Trent Lott’s real record…

One has to wonder why the media haven’t made much of an issue of Trent’s history of association with the Council of Conservative Citizens- it should be enough to drive Trent from office, given the nature of what this group advocates, and the fact that he had a column in their newsletter. Read the excerpts from the CCC web site. They’re horrific enough to induce vomiting…

The current [as of 1999, Ed.] scandal involving Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott’s long-term association with a white supremacist hate group, the Council of Conservative Citizens, arose almost by accident. Its emergence as a major story is the result of the dogged reporting of one Washington Post reporter and a handful of mostly African-American columnists, with help from independent researchers (including FAIR).
