Great Day!
We picked the kids up from school today - took Lynessa over to Hoots to have frozen yogurt. She was thrilled, and immediately said she hadn’t been there in a while… said her father (Gunilla’s ex, with whom we share custody) doesn’t take them there (it is cattycorner from the school). Guess he doesn’t like frozen yogurt? Dunno. Went back to the school, picked Lynnaea up from study hall (she had some math she had to make up… she talked a little about it with us - some stuff she just didn’t “get” when it was presented to her in the classroom - she gave Gunilla a slip to sign, showing she’d been to study hall) and took ‘em home - they played around for a while, met our tenant’s dogs, we went took them out to do some fun stuff and then had dinner out with them, went home and put them to bed after a bit. Girls were great, very well behaved, very talkative with both myself and Gunilla and everyone else around them. Normal happy sunny selves - really thrilled with all their Christmas stuff, including the new arrivals - my family and all our friends just dote on them, and we picked up some really neat stuff when a local store closed. I wish my room had half as much cool stuff when I was a kid!
Girls don’t have homework for the weekend (no weekend homework seems to be both teachers policies - we’ll have to check with their teachers), but they get some on Monday. Have to ask their father to drop off Lynnaea’s violin so she can attend her lessons on Monday - we sat in a bit on them last week. Her music teacher really impressed me with his style and attitude, and he was totally enthusiastic about us being there, and about Lynnaea’s talent and concentration, etc. Very nice guy. They get homework Monday night, we’ll work on it with them then, then they go back to their father’s on Tuesday after school.
We’ve got a big weekend planned… lots of family, friends, etc.
