Lunchables nutrition data…

The Lunchables web site

a) is done all in slow to load Flash
b) appears to contain no actual nutrition information

Bleah.

But I pulled this off the boxes the kids ate on Monday (bought by the other parent):

Lynnaea’s “Pizza” (make it yourself, about half the contents were still in the box when she threw it away):

Calories: 450, from fat: 130

Total fat: 23% DV Saturated fat 9g: 45% (!)
Cholesterol 30mg: 10%
Sodium 670mg: 28%
Total carbohydrate 62g: 21%
Dietary fiber 2g: 8% (!)
Sugars 35g
Protein 18g
Vitamin A: 25%, Vitamin C: 15%, Calcium: 40%, Iron 10%

No fruits or vegetables, just cheese, tomato paste, and bread as far as I could tell. Can you say, training the tastebuds for the fast food nation?

Juice drink: 10% juice

Lynnessa:

Even worse. Had a “Lunchables” soda pop. Hot dog. Most of which she ate with Gunilla’s coaxing.

Total fat: 29% DV Saturated fat 9g: 45% (!)
Cholesterol 30mg: 10%
Sodium 850mg: 35%
Total carbohydrate 69mg: 23%
Dietary fiber 1g: 4% (!)
Sugars 46g
Protein 10g
Vitamin A: 2%, Vitamin C: 0%, Calcium: 10%, Iron 10%

Is this disgusting or what? Oscar Mayer ought to be ashamed of itself… no wonder so many kids are obese. Even our kids, aside from their lack of appetite, want nothing but starch and sugar. Bleah - the brains and bodies of America’s youth are being rotted from the inside out.
