God, I was a major geek (more Google extracts)

[Wow… I was a serious geek; like, the most exciting and cool thing about tunnels under the college I attended was the fact that someone had hooked up a terminal to the school mini-computer, so that people could sit in the depths and read email and shit, just like they could do from their dorm rooms! No wonder I started an internet company. -Thomas]

Wow… a whole newsgroup devoted to the subject of tunneling, as it was
referred to at my old school!

I never got a chance (:!) to go tunneling, but an article in the paper
featured the subject… you could go almost anywhere on campus…
and, even more cool, they had a *TERMINAL* hooked up somewhere down
there, and people would log on and read their e-mail and do other
stuff from it. Radical, huh?
