We are looking for a scaleable server… start out small, expand very
fast, for a Internet Service (not dial-in).
We have an upper limit of $25,000, but realistically would like to
drop no more than $5 to $10,000 to start with, including the cost
of the ISDN connection and networking hardware…
The biggest concerns are stability, and matching price to network
connection (ISDN or perhaps partial T-1) to performance (i.e. we
don’t need something that will scream, and then bottleneck at the
network connection). We’re also looking to get a color monitor (17″
min, preferably 19″) and have it be somewhat usably locally while
still handling network access.
What do you suggest?
