Latest asinine behavior by my wife’s ex
So, yesterday, we call the school, tell them to let the kids know they can walk home the two blocks it takes to get to our house. They stay after for tryouts for the school talent show - I’ve swapped in a new phone, and forgotten to turn the ringer on, so they can’t reach us by phone. I call the school a little after 1:30 p.m. after they haven’t shown up, to see if somehow the message didn’t get through, and am told they were staying late and had probably already left.
Meanwhile, my wife’s ex showed up at the school, it isn’t his day to have custody of them, refuses to let the kids walk home from school even though they do this all the time when they’re with us and are 9 1/2 and 8 years old (they walk down to the corner strip mall to buy candy and rent videos all the time on their own as well), and complains that we’re neglecting the kids because we’re having them walk home, and insists that they’re not old enough.
He won’t leave, even after he’s told to, by me, and Gunilla - Gunilla has been up all night working on signs for Queer Pride day, and has to get up out of bed and literally shove him out the door and shove the door closed, him protesting loudly and shouting insults and making a total ass of himself the whole time (all this in front of the kids). Next time he does that, I’m calling the police on his pathetic fat ass, for kidnapping and trespassing.
He also has this bizarre idea that somehow I’m not supposed to be involved in the kids lives - well, reality says otherwise (he’s good at denying it), and by the time they’re 18, I’ll have spent 12 years parenting the older one, and 14 the younger one, so I think I’ll have as much moral claim as him, which must bug him no end.
When Lambda Legal gets on his ass, he’ll regret being an idiot - pathetic fool has gotten himself on every lawyer’s blacklist in northern calfornia for stiffing four straight lawyers on their fees; he’s also lucky he can rent anything - obviously he latest landlord didn’t run a credit check, as he’s been evicted from three places with thousands in back rent due, in the last two years alone.
