Huffington, Camejo consider an alliance to appeal to progressives

OAKLAND — Convinced that the Oct. 7 recall election offers the best shot ever for progressives to win the governorship, independent Arianna Huffington and Green Party activist Peter Camejo are strongly considering an alliance in which one would drop out late in the race if the other has a real chance of winning.
While the two candidates will run separate campaigns, each has spoken highly of the other. Both are highlighting issues of concern to progressives and may campaign together at times.

They are to meet today in San Francisco to work on an agreement that would involve one of them leaving the contest and endorsing the other close to Election Day.
