more and more chaotic and absurd
[Crazier and crazier… do we really want a lame duck Governor fighting for his life until March? At that rate, the tab for the recall won’t just be $67,000,000 plus another $50 million campaign funds… Davis himself will probably raise $100 milllion, and the other candidates just as much. We’ll hear about nothing else, be bombarded with nothing else until the March election is over, and everything in the state will grind to a halt. That’ll do great things for the economy. NOT. -Thomas]

SAN JOSE, Calif. — A federal judge warned Friday that he may postpone California’s Oct. 7 recall election over voting rights questions, and ordered Monterey County to refrain from mailing out overseas ballots until the questions are resolved.
The new uncertainty in the already chaotic special election came on a day a poll showed support building for the ouster of Gov. Gray Davis, and when a billionaire adviser to candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger was widely rebuked for suggesting California property taxes are too low.
