Real story behind Arianna’s taxes

[Arianna’s patrician background is sometimes overly visible.. sure, Arianna is not a centimillionaire… but she’s in that top 1% of the 1% (or close to it), with a $7 million dollar home and $1 million dollar book contract… the property taxes alone on her house exceed most people’s annual income! Saying “I am [not] I am a very wealthy woman” shows somewhat of a disconnect between her relaity and everyone else’s.

That said, she’s clearly got her head on straight and her political priorities right, and I think she truly does care. If she’s got a serious chance to win, I won’t hesistate to follow Peter’s lead and cast a vote for her… although, until Peter drops out, he has my vote.

Arianna’s Tax Returns

Recently, the Los Angeles Times reported that Arianna paid only $771 in federal income taxes, and no state income tax, over the past two years. Some reporters unfairly accused Arianna, who takes a strong stance on closing corporate tax loopholes, of hypocrisy.

In fact, Arianna has paid all of her taxes — income, property and employer taxes!
