This guy sent me spam, pretty cleverly built, intended to convince me to give away my credit card info. It had a very long URL with lots of spaces that was designed to hide the destination site, and then redirected people to the VISA privacy policy page while popping up a little window asking for info. I poked around the guy’s site, and found this file, which apparently records the results of a previous attempt to steal info. Amusing.

Ralph Nader, whose 2000 campaign many Democrats believe cost former vice
president Al Gore the presidency, has decided not to run for president
next year as the candidate of the Green Party but is still contemplating
a presidential race as an independent, a Nader associate said yesterday.

I spoke with Ralph Nader yesterday concerning his relationship with Greens in this state.

To give some improbable benefit of the doubt to the participants in the
roundtable on bi women in the last issue of On Our Backs, perhaps it wasn’t
the stunningly bigoted exchange it comes off as.

For more than a year, various misleaders of the Green Party have done everything they can to stop a second serious presidential bid by the party. This effort has focused on using procedural mechanisms to thwart the will of the grassroots majority, on working to ensure that Ralph Nader does not get the nomination, and on concocting an illogical “safe states” strategy to accommodate the Democratic Party.

Ralph Nader is currently meeting with small groups of Greens and other supporters of his 2000 presidential campaign across the country to explore the possibilities of a 04 presidential bid. While many of his former supporters are encouraging him to once again throw his hat into the ring, others have been outspoken in their advice for him to sit this one out. Robert McChesney, a member of Nader’s Citizen Works’ Corporate Reform Commission and president of the professors’ council of the US Campus Greens told the Nation, “Core elements of progressive constituencies, exactly the groups that the Greens need to build upon, will revolt with open contempt–far worse than 2000–to anything that helps keep Bush in office.”

As the end of the year approaches and we enter the 2004 election cycle,
