The day the Internet died…
O.K. I just opened up my inbox, after three hours of doing something else, and there were nearly 200 spam and macro virus emails, and barely a dozen “valid emails” (non-junk)… most of those were from some of the many and active mailing lists I’m on. This is ridiculous. I pity anyone stuck administering an email server of any significance today… the air must be a very deep and dark blue in datacenters across the country. The amount of wasted bandwidth and server resources consumed by this problem must be completely ridiculous.
This simply cannot go on. How many times must we be confronted with exactly the same problem before a solution is found?
I’m afraid to leave my computer now… afraid of how many thousands of messages I’ll have by morning if this keeps up.
If email isn’t dead, it is damn close to it.
