News At 11: controversy over queers kissing on TV
Our local TV station just ran an editorial on the reaction to their coverage of the “gay marriage” issue in San Francisco. Apparently, they actually had to ponder whether or not showing the couples kissing at the end of the ceremonies was journalistically appropriate… fortunately, they came down on the side of “yes, it is appropriate and responsible”. Unfortunately, it appears that a substantial portion of their readership blew a gasket as a result… as documented in the editorial at the URL below (which, I have to say, seems somewhat bizarre in tone itself… putting “gay kissing” on a par with the war in Iraq, the coup in Haiti, and gang violence; my wife says the author is trying to show how ridiculous it is to complain about glbtiq folk kissing when they see the rest of this stuff daily, but that’s not my read).

P.S. I personally doubt that any children would find same-sex couples kissing to be “upsetting”, unless and until their parents indicate that this is how they are supposed to respond.
